5 out of 5 stars VERY Pleased, Indeed!   January 5, 2009
Hippie2MARS (Chattanooga, TN United States)
Granted, I'm not a student and don't use this for my business, so I don't need a LOT of room in a Notebook Backpack. I can understand the concerns of others who have a lot to carry around along with their notebook computer. However for my needs, this is MORE than roomy enough. It is well padded and has lots of cool little pockets for my miscellaneous items. It is well constructed and while not waterproof, it does appear to be water resistant. It holds my 15.4" Toshiba Satellite perfectly with plenty of room to spare. I recently took an overnight trip which required airline travel. I was able to pack my computer w/cords, my cordless mouse, my phone and charger, a very small toiletry kit, my wallet, and a change of clothes (luckily, a knit dress and underwear don't take a LOT of room). I also appreciate that it has a handle on top as well as the typical (well-padded)backpack straps.

The front section has an ID slot, 4 pouches with velcro closures, 4 additional uncovered pouches and 4 pen-sized pouches, as well as a key fob. On one side of the backpack there is another covered pouch with a velcro closure (probably intended for a cellphone) and on the other side there is a hidden expandable mesh pocket to hold a water bottle. In the padded section intended to store the computer, there is, of course, a large pouch for the computer, with a flap that covers the top of the computer and velcros shut. The outside of the computer pouch has two additional uncovered pouches on it. On the opposite side there is a large pouch suitable for a file folder or such, which also has a velcro closure, and a detachable barrel-shaped zippered case for holding power cords and/or other incidentals.

I highly recommend this case. It has a lot of features, looks professional and is very reasonably priced. I have a Targus backpack for my work laptop and I MUCH prefer this Lowepro Tropolis 1250!

4 out of 5 stars Solid, professional computer backpack   December 9, 2008

I use this backpack to carry around my MacBook Pro 15". This bag has a sleek, professional look. It's fairly light, yet has a very durable feel. I expect it to last a long time.

I have a few quibbles, though: It's not quite as easy to open and pull out or put away my laptop, or other items, as it could be. Also, too much of its space is taken up by little pockets that I don't expect to ever use; it can only barely accommodate, say, a laptop and a large book in its main pocket, which is a common combination for me as a grad student. It's also not quite as comfortable on my back as it could be. Even so, this is the best overall laptop backpack I've tried.

5 out of 5 stars Great laptop backpack with added features   December 9, 2008

This laptop backpack is compact (small)...with many pockts for extras. I use it everyday to carry my netbook,a few books, PSP, Blackberry, Palm T/X, and waterbottle. The pockets make it convenient to keep everything organized. I would buy this again...because of the design and pockets.

5 out of 5 stars Professional look, high quality, comfortable   November 26, 2008

This is probably the best laptop bag I have ever owned. It is very compact, but that is what makes you feel not-like a school boy. Looks are not what's most important in life and this bag does not stop there. The materials feel durable, the zippers are easy to operate, the computer seems well protected, water shielded, and the weight on one's back passes almost unnoticed. I think the price is appropriate, as most vendors of high quality products advertise that good quality should equal high price; Lowepro does not.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent choice for me!   November 25, 2008

In my work I have to board ships on a daily basis. This usually involves climbing steep ladders in order to get on board. This backpack allows me to maintain my balance while going up and down the ladders while carrying all my paperwork and supplies. It is roomy and easily accomodates the various items I need to carry. The exterior cell phone pocket and water bottle holder come in handy too! The construction of the bag is superior and I think it will withstand our harsh winters and elements quite well. I expect it will last me a few years despite the constant handling it endures. For the money this was an excellent choice. It works well for me!
